7th PAY COMMISSION IMPLEMENTED FOR TEACHERS OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN UNIVERSITIES / INSTITUTIONS

The Central Government has given the gift of increment before the teachers of higher educational institutions just before Deepawali.script async="" src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js">








A decision has been taken to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission for higher educational institutions in the Union Cabinet meeting .

 In addition to the central educational institutions, the universities of the states and higher education institutions will also get the benefit of this increase.

After the Cabinet meeting, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar said that salaries of teachers of all the higher education institutions, which are under the ministry, including central universities, IITs, IIMs, NIT have been increased. 

The total increase in teachers' salaries will be between Rs 10400 to Rs 49800. This increase increased from 22 to 28 percent. 

The Ministry had formed an Expert Committee for the implementation of the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, which had prepared pay scale in accordance with the teachers.


Under the Center's decision, state universities, higher institutions, colleges, and assisted institutions will also get the benefit of increment. 

The center will hold a 50% stake in the expenditure on wage hikes. The rest of the states will have to give themselves. Teachers along with other personnel of other educational institutions will also get the benefit of this increase. Will apply from January 2016

The increment will be effective from January 1, 2016. The implementation of the decision will result in a burden of Rs 9800 crore on the public exchequer. 

This decision will be applicable to 119 Central Higher Education Institutions, 329 State Universities and 12912 Government and Assisted Colleges. 7.58 lakh personnel will get salary hike
