EASTERN RAILWAY INVITES APPLICATIONS FROM OUTSTANDING SPORTS PERSONS FOR RECRUITMENT AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA FOR THE YEAR 2016-17.

(For candidates residing abroad and Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul & Spiti districts and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands: the closing date and time is 23.02.2017 at 17:30 hrs.).
Quota: Total 21 (Twenty-one) Nos.
CATEGORY-1: PB-I (Scale Rs. 5,200 – 20,200) + GP Rs. 2400/- OR 2800/- [Corresponding to Level-4 OR Level-5 of Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission] {Quota- 05(Five)}: {Archery (M/W), Athletics (W), Cricket (W), Weightlifting (M/W}, Powerlifting (M/W)}. CATEGORY-2: PB-I (Scale Rs.5,200 – 20,200)+GP Rs. 1900/- OR 2000/- [Corresponding to Level-2 OR Level-3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission] {Quota- 16(Sixteen)}: {Archery(M/W), Athletics(W), Basketball(M/W), Bridge(M), Boxing(M), Cricket(W),Gymnastics(M/W), Powerlifting(W), Table-Tennis(M/W), Waterpolo(M) & Weightlifting(M)}.
Age Limit: Candidates age limit should be 18 – 25 years as on 01-07-2017.
Eligibility will be considered based on the sports performance in the championships held on 01.04.2014 or afterwards only and the sportsperson shall currently be an active player. Selection Process: Selection will be made on the basis of merit in trials and interview etc. subject to documents verification.
Separate application for each category as per the format given below to be sent, in a closed envelope superscribed ‘APPLICATION FOR SPORTS QUOTA RECRUITMENT FOR THE YEAR 2016-2017’ by post to the Chief Personnel Officer, Eastern Railway Headquarters, Eastern Railway Sports Association’s (ERSA) Office, 17, Netaji Subhas Road, Fairlie Place, Kolkata-700001 OR to be dropped in the box placed at ground floor in front of the Eastern Railway Sports Association’s (ERSA ) Office at the said address during office hours except Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
