U.P. Secondary Education Service Selection Board
U.P. Act No.5 of 1982 as passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature an Act to establish Secondary Education (Service Selection Boards) Act, 1982 for the selection of teachers in institutions recognised under the Intermediate Education Act, 1921.

Objectives and Reasons: The appointment of teachers in secondary institutions recognised by the Board of High School and Intermediate Education was governed by the Intermediate Education Act, 1921 and regulations made thereunder. It was felt that the selection of teachers under the provisions of the said Act and the regulations was some times not free and fair. Besides, the field of selection was also very much restricted. This adversely affected the availability of suitable teachers and the standard of education. It was therefore, considered necessary to constitute Secondary Education Service Commission at the State level, to select Principals, Lecturers, Head-masters and L.T. Grade teachers, and Secondary Education Selection Boards at the regional level, to select and make available suitable candidates for comparatively lower posts in C.T./J.T.C./B.T.C. Grade for such institutions.
The Board shall be a body corporate. It shall exercise powers throughout Uttar Pradesh and its headquarters shall be at Allahabad.
The Board shall consist of a chairman and ten members.
The Board shall have the following powers and duties namely

to prepare guidelines on matters relating to the method of direct recruitment of teachers;
to conduct examinations, where necessary, and hold interviews and make selection of candidates for being appointed as teachers;
to select and invite experts and to appoint examiners for the purposes specified in clause (b);
to make recommendations regarding the appointment of selected candidates;
to advise the Management in matters relating to dismissal, removal or reduction in rank of teachers;
to obtain periodical returns or other informations from institutions regarding strength of the teaching staff and the appointment, dismissal, removal, termination or reduction in rank of teachers;
To fix the emoluments and traveling and other allowances of the experts;
To administer the funds placed at the disposal of the Board;
to perform such other duties and exercise such other powers as may be prescribed or as may be incidental or conducive to the discharge of its functions under this Act or the rules or regulation made thereunder.
The selection of teachers is conducted according to rules framed under The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board, Rules 1998.

The Commission had conducted Tier-II Examination of CGLE, 2017 from 17.2.2018 to 22.2.2018 across the country. On 21.2.2018, due to incomplete downloading of data on account of some technical reasons, the examination was delayed and candidates faced inconveniences.

The Commission after detailed consultations with all its 09 Regional / Sub-Regional Offices and based on the inputs provided by them and also representations received from some candidates, the Commission has taken a considered decision in the interest of the candidates, to re-conduct Paper-I i.e. Quantitative Ability, on 9.3.2018 at 10.30 AM. The details of the venue of the examination will be uploaded on the respective regional websites.


It may, however, be noted that the re-examination would be conducted for only those candidates who had actually appeared for Paper-I Examination on 21.2.2018 at their designated venues of examination. However, at one venue in Patna i.e. Cyber City, the reexamination will be conducted for Paper-I as well as Paper-II, on the same day.

A. Educational Qualification, Provisional Number of seats in Apprentice category including likely reservation shall be as follows. Reservation will be applicable as per the prescribed percentage for recruitment applicable to the State of Tamil Nadu & Puducherry,
Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana .

Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as B.E or equivalent, MBA or equivalent or MCA / CA/ ICWA, LLB shall NOT be considered. Suppression of information regarding possession or pursuing higher qualification shall render a candidate ineligible for consideration at any stage of selection/termination or any time during engagement.

 Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 31.01.2018 (Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST i.e. up to a max of 29 yrs., 3 years for OBC i.e. up to a max of 27 yrs., for the posts reserved for them). Candidates belonging to PwBD categories shall be given age relaxation up to 10 years (up to 15 years for SC/ST and up to 13 years for OBC (NonCreamy layer) candidates.


. Period of Apprenticeship Training: As indicated against respective Discipline codes. D. Selection Methodology: 1. The Selection process would consist of two stages i.e. Written test .


 The Written Test will comprise of 100 questions and shall be of 90 minutes duration & would mainly comprise of objective type questions.. The questions would be in bilingual i.e. English & Hindi. The written test would carry a weightage of 85% and the weightage for interview will be 15%.

ONLINE applications are invited from eligible candidates for the 26,502  posts of Assistant Loco Pilot & Technicians. Applications complete in all respect should be submitted ONLINE ONLY before 23.59 hrs of 05.03.2018.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

Level 02 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of `19900/- plus other allowances as admissible.

5) Age(as on 01.07.2018): 18 – 28 Years - Refer para 5.1 for age relaxations.

6) Stages of Exam: There shall be two stages examination (First stage CBT and Second Stage CBT) common for ALP and Technician. In addition , candidates who have opted for ALP and qualified in Second Stage CBT have to undergo Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT). Marks will be normalized in all the stages of exam
